The experimental approach adopted for this project lays the foundation in the investigation of Matter, which by becoming an object of reflection, allows new design scenarios to be outlined. The assumption was to think like a design alchemist, with an aptitude for exploration, investigating the material starting from its merits and flaws.
Ceramic is the subject of this design investigation, specifically white earthenware, whose porosity was emphasized. From this study comes “Containers in Motion,” a product design with conceptual output. Through the contrast between ceramic, smooth and rough, and elastic bands, a series of household containers inspired by the movement of human joints was created. Movement, the defining element of each object, becomes discovery, play and sharing, opening unexpected scenarios for a new idea of conviviality.
